On January 20, 2011, the board of directors of the Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority voted to proceed with an environmental impact study of Plasco’s technology to convert garbage otherwise destined for landfill into green energy
Plasco’s technology employs heat and plasma arcs to turn trash into electricity, water and construction material. The idea of waste to energy conversion is based on simple carbon chemistry, but Plasco’s technology, called plasma gasification, involves a complex series of steps designed to increase energy efficiency and control emissions.
