changing the way communities deal with waste

We turn garbage into electricity — how is our process unique?

The Project

Plasco's proposal is to finance, build and operate a waste conversion facility that will convert approximately 100,000 tons per year of the Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority's waste into green power and other useful products.

The Plasco Advantage

95% of the waste processed by the Plasco Conversion System will be diverted from landfill and converted into useful and environmentally friendly co-products. By converting garbage that can’t be recycled into green power and other valuable products, nothing is wasted.

Plasco offers the following benefits to Salinas Valley:

  • Innovative technology demonstrating Salinas Valley’s environmental leadership
  • Compliment to community efforts to reduce waste and maximize recyling programs
  • 65 construction jobs and 37 permanent, clean tech jobs
  • The most economic and environmentally superior alternative to landfilling
  • Possible revenue sharing
  • Modular system that can be phased-in as required
  • Visitor Centre for educating students and the public about waste reduction, recycling and recovery
